I am an international student. What type of Visa is required for the Bold Summers program?
BOLD Summers
Penn Medicine Summer Program for High School Students & Program in Algorithmic and Combinatorial Thinking (PACT)
Depending on your home country, you may need to apply for a Visa to enter the United States. When doing so, please apply for a TOURIST OR VISITOR’S (B2) Visa. Do not apply for a student visa. You will also need to indicate that you will be attending a “summer camp” in the United States. BOLD Summers will provide you with a letter of support for your application and Embassy Appointment.
Engineering Summer Academy at Penn (ESAP)
International students (non-US citizens/residents) require an F-1 Visa to attend the program. Visitor (B2) Visas are not acceptable. The University of Pennsylvania is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant applicants. Once accepted into the program, international students will receive additional information about applying for a Visa. The process can be lengthy, and we recommend beginning immediately to ensure your Visa is processed in time for the start of the program. You can learn more about applying to the program as an international applicant here.
