Where will students be living during the program?

BOLD Summers

Students are either assigned to a single or double bedroom. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and furnished with an extra-long twin bed, desk, chair, dresser, and/or closet. Certain residence halls on campus provide a mini-refrigerator, television, telephone, lamps, and end tables. The University of Pennsylvania’s Hospitality Services informs BOLD Summers of their summer residence hall assignment (including hall amenities) in mid-May. Please consult your Welcome & Arrival Guide for specifics on the assigned residence hall.

The University of Pennsylvania offers double occupancy (traditional) and suite-style residence halls. All participants in the program will be assigned to the same residence hall. If assigned to a double occupancy room, students will room with someone of the same gender. In a traditional residence hall, communal bathrooms are shared by several dorm rooms on the floor and separated by gender. In a suite-style room, students are assigned an individual bedroom and share a common area and bathroom(s) within the suite. BOLD Summers allows students to request one roommate to live with or near. Only mutual roommate requests will be honored. Students requesting medical or religious accommodation for a single must inform BOLD Summers in their online registration. Please note that the University of Pennsylvania ultimately makes all final room assignments.

Bedrooms, common areas, and bathrooms are cleaned before student arrival and after departure. The students are responsible for maintaining a clean living environment during the program. If an incident, such as a spill, occurs, the student must contact the Residential Director for assistance.
